APPROACH
My counselling style is compassionate, and grounded in empowering each client to grow in their unique journey. My primary approach is person-centered which is rooted in the belief that each individual has an inherent capacity for self-healing and personal growth and I will foster a safe, non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. I use insights from Adlerian theory, which emphasizes the importance of understanding each individual’s life story and sense of purpose. With a feminist approach, I recognize the social and cultural factors that influence personal challenges.
My practice is also informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS), helping clients explore and harmonize different parts of themselves to promote inner balance and healing. I can incorporate practical tools from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and the Enneagram to help guide clients in understanding and transforming their emotional patterns, thought processes, and core personality dynamics.
Through this integrative approach, I am able support clients in building self-awareness, self-compassion, and the resilience needed to navigate life’s challenges authentically.
“WHAT HAPPENS IN COUNSELLING”
If you choose to move forward with booking a session, I will send you an intake form which provides information about yourself, some history questions and your concerns, and I will also clarify your rights as a client, what confidentiality means as well as consent to move forward with counselling sessions. Within the first few sessions, concerns will be talked about in depth and goals may be discussed. In my sessions, I will involve clarifying your thoughts, behaviours and feelings, and sometimes I may include exercises, roleplays or homework. This is a collaborative process and we will always move at a pace that is comfortable for you.
